Reasons for the Increase in Military Expenditure
– According to the report, the main reasons for the increase in global military spending in 2023 could be attributed to the ongoing war in Ukraine and increasing geopolitical conflicts in Asia, Oceania, and the Middle East.
– In 2023, there was an increase in military spending in all five geographical regions for the first time since 2009.
