SSC JE Recruitment 2026: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the Junior Engineer Examination 2026 notification for recruitment to various Junior Engineer posts in Government of India departments and offices, along with Scientific Assistant in the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Educational Qualification:
Candidates must possess the prescribed Degree or Diploma in the relevant engineering discipline. Depending on the post, qualifications include Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics/Telecommunication, Computer Science, Physics and related fields. Some posts also require relevant work experience.

Age Limit:

Application Fee:
The application fee is ₹100. Women candidates, SC, ST, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempted from payment of the fee.

Selection Process:
The selection process consists of Computer-Based Examination Paper-I and Paper-II. Paper-I is qualifying in nature, while final selection and allocation are based on Paper-II marks and the candidate’s post/organization preferences.

Exam Pattern:
Paper-I consists of General Intelligence & Reasoning (50 marks), General Awareness (50 marks) and 100 marks of the relevant engineering/technical subject, making a total of 200 marks. The duration is 2 hours. Paper-II consists of 100 questions for 300 marks with a duration of 2 hours.

Minimum qualifying marks are 30% for UR, 25% for OBC/EWS and 20% for all other categories. Paper-I marks are used for shortlisting, while normalized Paper-II marks are used for final merit.
