Educational Qualification
Scientist-D
Candidates should have a First Class Master’s Degree in Environmental Science/Natural Science or a First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology in Environmental, Chemical, Civil, Energy and Environment or Biotechnology.
Candidates must also fulfill the prescribed publication/technical report requirements and have at least 7 years of relevant practical experience in prevention, control and abatement of river pollution, industrial pollution, sewage management or environmental management.
Scientist-C
Candidates should have a First Class Master’s Degree in Environmental Science/Natural Science or a First Class Bachelor’s Degree in the prescribed Engineering/Technology disciplines.
Candidates must fulfill the prescribed publication/technical report requirements and have at least 5 years of relevant practical experience in environmental pollution control, sewage management or environmental management.
Scientist-B
Candidates should have a First Class Master’s Degree in Environmental Science/Natural Science or a First Class Bachelor’s Degree in the prescribed Engineering/Technology disciplines.
A valid GATE score with 90% or above percentile or NET-JRF qualification is required. Candidates should also have at least 3 years of relevant experience. Relevant research/teaching experience may also be considered.
Assistant Manager (Finance)
Candidates should have a First Class Master’s Degree in Commerce with specialization in Finance & Accounting/Taxation, Chartered Accountant qualification or MBA in Finance & Accounting.
Candidates must have 8 years of post-qualification experience in the relevant field, including experience in taxation, accounting, Tally/QuickBooks, online returns for TDS/GST/PF/ESI/STPI and payroll preparation/management.
Administrative Assistant
Candidates should have a First Class Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent along with working knowledge of computers.
A minimum of 5 years of post-qualification administrative experience is required. Candidates must also qualify the skill test based on noting and drafting.
Scientific Assistant
Candidates should have a First Class Master’s Degree in Environmental Science/Natural Science or a First Class Bachelor’s Degree in the prescribed Engineering/Technology disciplines.
A valid GATE score with 90% or above percentile or NET-JRF qualification is required.
Taxonomist
Candidates should have a First Class M.Sc.
A Master’s Degree in Botany or Zoology with at least 75% marks is desirable. A valid GATE score with 90% or above percentile/NET-JRF qualification and prescribed publication/technical report experience are also required.
Data Entry Operator
Candidates should have a First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Science/BCA.
Candidates must qualify the skill test in MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Typing Speed:
English: 45 words per minute
Hindi: 35 words per minute
Field Assistant
Candidates should have passed 10+2 in Science with a minimum of 55% marks.
Knowledge of water/wastewater sampling and sample preservation is required.

Selection Process
The selection process will be based on screening/document verification followed by Written Test and/or Interview, as applicable.
Only candidates fulfilling the prescribed educational qualification and experience will be called for the selection process.
CPCB may shortlist candidates through a written examination, percentage of marks, desirable qualification, relevant experience, higher qualification or any other suitable criteria if a large number of applications are received.
For the final selection, candidates qualifying the document verification and screening criteria will be interviewed by a Selection Committee.
