EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
Qualification varies by trade. Candidates generally require 10th/12th pass with the relevant ITI/technical qualification, diploma or trade experience prescribed for the particular post. For example, Cipher requires 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, while several technical trades require 10th pass plus ITI/technical training in the relevant trade.
AGE LIMIT
• Generally: 18–23 Years for Rifleman/technical trades
• Certain Warrant Officer posts: up to 25 Years, as prescribed for the respective trade
• Age relaxation is applicable as per Government rules:
SC/ST: 5 years
OBC: 3 years
Ex-Servicemen: as prescribed
APPLICATION FEE
• General/OBC candidates: ₹100
• SC/ST, Female and Ex-Servicemen candidates: Exempted
SELECTION PROCESS
Physical Standard Test (PST) → Physical Efficiency Test (PET) → Written Examination/Computer Based Test → Skill/Trade Test → Document Verification → Detailed Medical Examination (DME) → Review Medical Examination (RME).
PHYSICAL TEST
• Male candidates: 5 km race within 24 minutes (except Ladakh region, where applicable)
• Physical standards include prescribed height, chest and weight requirements according to category/region.
WRITTEN EXAM
• Computer Based Test: 100 marks
• Minimum qualifying marks: 35% General/EWS and 33% SC/ST/OBC
• Candidates qualifying the written examination and other stages are considered for the next stage as per recruitment rules.
