UP SPECIAL TET 2026: The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), Prayagraj has released the notification for Special Teacher Eligibility Test (Special TET) 2026 under Advertisement No. 03/2026.

ELIGIBILITY
The Special TET is applicable to eligible teachers working at Primary Level (Classes 1–5) and Upper Primary Level (Classes 6–8) in eligible government, local-body, aided and recognized schools, along with eligible Special Educators (CWSN).
For Special Educators (CWSN), the prescribed qualification includes Graduation along with D.Ed./B.Ed. Special Education or an equivalent qualification recognized by RCI, along with the required active RCI registration.
AGE LIMIT
For Special Educators working on contract/deputation, the maximum age limit is 60 years as on 03 November 2026.

EXAM PATTERN
The Special TET examination will consist of 150 Multiple Choice Questions carrying 150 marks. The duration will be 2 hours 30 minutes (150 minutes). There will be NO NEGATIVE MARKING.

Language I (Hindi) – 30/30
Language II (English/Urdu/Sanskrit) – 30/30
Mathematics – 30/30
Environmental Studies – 30/30
Total – 150 Questions/150 Marks
UPPER PRIMARY LEVEL (CLASSES 6–8)
Child Development & Teaching Methodology – 30/30
Language I (Hindi) – 30/30
Language II (English/Urdu/Sanskrit) – 30/30
Mathematics & Science / Social Studies, as applicable – 60/60
Total – 150 Questions/150 Marks
QUALIFYING MARKS
General Category: 60% (90/150)
SC/ST/OBC/Freedom Fighter Dependents/Ex-Servicemen/PwD: 55% (82/150)
EWS (Unreserved): 55% (82/150)
SELECTION / QUALIFICATION
Candidates who obtain the prescribed minimum qualifying marks will be eligible for issuance of the Special TET qualification certificate. If the examination is conducted in multiple shifts, normalization may be applied as per the prescribed procedure.
