Eligibility: – Candidates should have passed 10th class with minimum 50% marks from recognized board.
Candidates should have passed ITI diploma in relevant trade from recognized institute.

Age limit: – Candidates should be between 15 to 24 years as on 12 April 2016.
Age relaxation: – The upper age limit relaxable up 03 years for O.B.C., 05 years for SC, ST categories candidates as per government rules.

Training period: – The Apprentices will be given training for a period of one or two years.

Application fee: – Candidates pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs 100 by Indian Postal Order or demand draft drawn in favour of Sr. DFM- Mumbai Central (WR).
SC, ST, P.W.D. and women candidates are exempted from payment of application fee.

Selection process: – Candidates will be selected on the basis of eligible candidates called for trade test. After trade test, only fit candidates will be called for interview.

Western Railway in its present form came into existence on 5th November, 1951 by the merger of its forerunner, the erstwhile Bombay, Baroda and Central India Railway (BB&CI), with other State Railways viz, Saurashtra, Rajputana and Jaipur. The BB&CI Railway was itself incorporated in 1855, starting with the construction of a 29 mile broad gauge track from Ankleshwar to Utran in Gujarat state on the West Coast. In 1864, the railway was extended up to Mumbai.
