UPSC CAPF Exam Recruitment 398 Assistant Commandant Posts: – Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued a notification for conducting Central Armed Police Forces Examination 2018 for the recruitment of Assistant Commandant in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) viz. Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). Eligible candidates may apply online till 21 May 2018. 1) Border Security Force (B.S.F.) – 169 posts.
2) Central Reserve Police Force (C.R.P.F.) – 179 posts.
3) Central Industrial Security Force (CISF): 84 posts.
4) Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB): 29 posts.
5) Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) – 46 posts.
Qualification: – Candidates should have passed Bachelors Degree in any discipline from recognized university or institute.
Age limit: – Candidate should be 20 – 25 yrs, as on August 1, 2018 (max age relaxed by 3 yrs for OBC, 5 yrs for SC/ST).
Pay scale: – Candidates will good salary as per UPSC CAPF Exam Recruitment rule.
Selection process: – Candidates will be selected on the basis of written examination, physical efficiency test, medical test and interview.
Physical efficiency test (PET):-
100 Meter race – 16 seconds for male candidates (18 seconds for female candidates).
800 Meter race – 3 minute 45 seconds for male candidates (4 minute 45 seconds for female candidates).
Long Jump – 3.5 meters in 3 chances for male candidates (3.0 meters in 3 chances for female candidates).
Shot Put (7.26 kilograms) – 4.5 Meters for male candidates (Not applicable for female candidates).
Application fee: – General/ OBC candidates (males) are required to pay a fee of Rs.200 either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI on or before 21 May 2018.
Female /SC/ ST candidates are exempted from payment of fees.
Scheme of written examination: – The written examination to be conducted by Union Public Service Commission will comprise two papers: (Paper I – 2 Hours duration and Paper-II- 3 Hours duration)
Paper-I: General Ability and Intelligence – 250 marks.
This paper will be of Objective Type (Multiple Choice Questions) in which the questions will be set in English as well as Hindi.
Paper-II: General Studies, Essay and Comprehension – 200 marks.
In this paper candidates will be allowed the option of writing the Essay Component in English or Hindi, but the medium of Précis Writing, Comprehension Components and other communications/Language Skills will be English only.
