SSC Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’ Exam 2016 | Apply online for 1064 Vacancy: – Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has issued a notification for the open- competitive Stenographers Grade C & D Examination for the selection of personnel for the posts Stenographer Grade ‘C’ (Group ‘B’ Non-Gazetted) and Stenographer Grade ‘D’ (Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted). Eligible candidates may apply online from 07 May 2016 to 03 June 2016. SSC Stenographer Eligibility Criteria:-

Eligibility: – Candidates should have passed 12th Standard or equivalent from a recognized Board.

Skill test (Stenography):- The candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English/ Hindi at the speed of 100 words per minute for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and 80 words per minute for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘D’. The matter will have to be transcribed on computer only. The evaluation of transcription will be done electronically only. The transcription time is as follows:-

For Stenographer Grade ‘D’:- 50 minutes (English) 65 minutes (Hindi).
For Stenographer Grade ‘C’:- 40 minutes (English) 55 minutes (Hindi).

Pay scale: – Information not available.

Age relaxation: – Candidates should be between 18 to 27 years as on 01 August 2016.
Age relaxation: – The upper age limit relaxable up to 03 years for OBC, 05 years for SC, ST and 10 years for PWD categories candidates as per government rules.

SSC Stenographer Application Fee:-

Application fee: – Candidates pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs 100 by through SBI challan or net banking or debit card or credit card.

SC, ST, P.W.D., Ex-servicemen and women candidates are exempted from payment of application fee.

SSC Stenographer Selection Process:-

Selection process: – Candidates will be shortlisted for the skill test on the basis of their performance in the written examination. Candidates who qualify in the skill test will be recommended for appointment by the commission on the basis of their performance in the written examination.

SSC Stenographer Exam Pattern:-

Written examination: – The written examination will consist of one objective type paper as shown below:-

  • Paper-I – General Intelligence & Reasoning (50 questions) – 50 marks.
  • Paper-II – General Awareness (50 questions) – 50 marks.
  • Paper-III – English Language & Comprehension (100 questions) – 100 marks.

Question paper for part I and II will be set both in English and Hindi while the part-III will be in Hindi only. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

Exam date: – The written examination will be held on 31 July 2016 (Sunday).
