New Rules to Fill Application Form
Railway Exam New Rules : RRB has made Aadhaar card mandatory for applying to Railway Jobs. Railway Recruitment Boards have published a notification regarding a new rule in filling application form for Railway Job Exam in future. The step related to aadhaar card, has been taken in order to ascertain the identities of candidates in the examination. From now onwards all candidates have to provide an additional detail compulsorily in the application form. Mentioning the Aadhaar card number is compulsory in further railway job exam conducted by RRBs.
Aadhaar Card Compulsory for Railway Job (New Rules)
The official notification published by RRB was quoted as follows.
“Ascertaining the identities of candidates at examination is critical for fair conduct of Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) examination and prevention of attempts at impersonation. For candidates also the use of Aadhaar is a convenient and hassle free mode of verification of identity.”
So in order to curb the identity crisis menace amongst candidates, the following steps are taken. Again the words from RRBs are quoted about Railway aadhaar card.
“Accordingly, Railway Recruitment Boards have decided that in all future railway recruitments, the applicants shall be required to furnish his /her 12 digit Aadhaar number or 28 digit Aadhaar registration receipt at the time of filling up the application.”
- During the exam, through a biometric attendance system, their fingerprints can be collected and matched with the one stored with the Aadhaar server.
“All eligible candidates desiring to apply for the posts of Railway Recruitment Boards are requested to visit the Aadhaar Enrolment centers to get them enrolled for Aadhaar.”
NOTE: – However the compulsion regarding Aadhaar Card is not applicable to candidates of J & K, Assam and Meghalaya for railway exam.
Therefore if you want to apply for Railway Job Exam and still don’t have an Aadhaar Card, then get enrolled to get the same at the earliest. In that case otherwise non-possession of Aadhaar card will render you not eligible for Railway Job Exam conducted by RRBs.
Why RRB has made Aadhaar mandatory for applying to Railway Jobs?
The decision to make 12-digit unique identification number mandatory for Railway Recruitment Board due to the following reasons:
- To curb malpractices in the examination such as cheating, impersonation, mismanagement etc.
- Ascertining the identities of the candidates
- For convenient and hassle free mode of verification of identity
- For smooth conduct of the exam
What is Aadhaar Card ?
Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique identification number issued by the Indian government to every individual resident of India. Aadhar card is a number that serves as a proof of identity and address, anywhere in India.
Provision of Aadhaar Card
The provisions of the Aadhaar Act and the Regulations under the Act have come into effect from September 14, 2016. Section 57 of the Aadhaar Act 2016 permits the use of Aadhaar number for establishing the identity of an individual for any purpose pursuant to any law or any contract to this effect.
