The date of CWE (Common Written Exam) to be conducted by the IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) for recruitment in RRB (Regional Rural Banks) is drawing near day by day. It is one of the large scale inductions in the banking sector and can be rated equivalent to IBPS PO and Clerks.
This is the reason why we are emphasizing on the IBPS RRB pattern and IBPS CWE exam pattern and structure. It is necessary to focus on the syllabus and our strengths to score better and crack the exam with a higher merit.
The IBPS RRB 2016 recruitment will take place to fill vacancies in about 56 Regional Rural Banks spread all across the country. These vacancies mainly comprise of Assistant and Officer Scale-I.
A total of 16560 vacancies in the cadre of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) & Officer (Scale- I, II & III) are to be filled this year. And in order to get appointed for any of these RRB 2016 posts, the utmost pre-requisite is to score above the cut off in every exam or interview as applicable.
RRB Office Assistant & Officer (scale I):
The previous exam pattern of IBPS CWE recruitment that took place last year included only one test.
But a major change has been effected for IBPS RRB 2016 with the introduction of a preliminary exam for Assistant & Officer Scale-I posts for the first time. This preliminary exam will be qualifying in nature.
Note: – Candidates who have applied for Officer (Scale-II & III) need to appear only for mains exam.
The pattern of IBPS CWE RRB 2016 prelims is also quite different from the regular prelims of IBPS PO & Clerks. Checkout the sections & marks allotted:
It is going to be a simple online test of 45 minutes for 80 marks containing two papers:
1) Reasoning – 40 questions.
2) Quantitative aptitude – 40 questions.
Since the recruitment is for Rural Banks the paper will not have any English language section. This will prove beneficial to most of the aspirants from rural backgrounds who have studied in their respective regional languages.
IBPS RRB Online Mock Tests: –
When you have to answer 80 questions in 45 minutes it becomes important to manage your time, both in the exam hall and in the study time. For Assistant exam the focus should be on attempting more and more questions of medium difficulty level. While preparing for Officer Scale-I practice more questions from medium to high difficulty. With tens of thousands of candidates in fray to prove their mettle, the competition zeroes down to those who are able to correctly answer maximum question within the shortest possible time. In order to attain that level of accuracy you should take ample number of IBPS RRB mock tests from reliable sources and strengthen your scoring patterns in high marking bracket.
RRB Prelims Cutoffs: – Candidates must pass successfully in both papers by securing the minimum cutoff marks in each of them. Shortlisting for Main exam depends on sectional and overall cutoff.
While every correct answer carries 1 mark, each wrong answer would fetch you 0.25 negative marks. So you can count that every four wrong answers from your side will nullify the effect of one right answer. Hence you need to plan accordingly.
What is the safe number of attempts to qualify in IBPS RRB prelims?
If you are able to answer 50 – 60 questions with 90% or above accuracy, the chances of qualifying for mains are bright.Hence it can also be considered as the safe number of attempts for IBPS CWE RRB 2016 prelims exam.
RRB Office Assistant & Officer (scale I, II & III) Mains
For Office assistant & Officer (scale I) jobs in IBPS RRB 2016 recruitment, candidates proceed to mains based on their scores in prelims.
On the other hand, those who had applied for Officer (scale II & III) posts will directly appear for main examination as they don’t have a preliminary exam.
The IBPS RRB mains exam will take place on following dates.
Officer (scale I, II & III) – December 11, 2016
Office Assistant – December 18, 2016
As usual, there is negative mark of 0.25 for each wrong answer in these objective tests.
The main exam pattern is similar for scale I cadre (office assistant & officer). See the following tables for details:
Officer (scale II & III) exam pattern is slightly different as it is concerned to specialized positions. So make sure to understand the test structure based on the post you choose to apply.
General awareness section is replaced by financial awareness for scale II & III cadre examinations.
On a concluding note we assume if a candidate studies for four hours a day sincerely and takes ample mock tests keeping a positive frame of mind all RRB exams are well within the cracking range.
Good Luck Aspirants!
