All the candidates aspiring for jobs in banking sector should be familiar with IBPS RRB exam. It is conducted for inducting Assistants and Officers. Therefore to apply for the same, so you must know about the details of IBPS RRB Eligibility Criteria 2016 such as IBPS RRB Age Criteria, IBPS RRB Eligibility. A candidate can apply for the post of Office Assistant or Officer. However, only one post in officer cadre like for Officer Scale-I or Scale-II or Scale-III can be applied for.
IBPS RRB Eligibility Criteria Details
There is a great difference in the criteria of IBPS RRB Assistant Eligibility and IBPS RRB Officer Eligibility. Hence the aspirants should keep a note of the slot they fit in.
After a few changes that occurred over the last few years IBPS RRB Eligibility Criteria 2016 emerged. It includes the most important factors like IBPS RRB Age Criteria, nationality and educational qualifications.
So let us now go through each of the basic details of IBPS RRB Eligibility. First of all, candidates must have relevant documents in support of their age, identity, citizenship and educational qualifications as indicated in the online application.
Nationality / Citizenship: – Candidate should be a citizen of India or Nepal or Bhutan or should be a Tibetan refugee. Candidates from specific countries with the intention of permanently settling in India are also eligible.
Educational Qualifications for IBPS RRB Eligibility
Candidates should note that for IBPS RRB Eligibility Criteria they should have passed from a University or Institution. The result should have been declared on or before 30 September 2016.
IBPS RRB Assistant Eligibility: –
Applying candidate must have a degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent. You should be proficient in local language as prescribed by the participating RRBs. Knowledge of computer skills is also desirable for IBPS RRB Assistant Eligibility.
IBPS RRB Officer Eligibility for Scale-I: –
Candidate should have a degree in any discipline.
However, degree in agriculture, horticulture, forestry, animal husbandry, veterinary science, agricultural engineering are preferred. Furthermore you can have a degree in pisciculture, agricultural marketing and cooperation, information technology, management, law, economics and accountancy.
Candidate should be proficient in local language and have computer knowledge.
IBPS RRB Officer Eligibility Scale-I(General Banking Officer): –
Candidate should have a degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
Preferable disciplines are banking, finance, marketing, agriculture, horticulture, forestry, animal husbandry, veterinary science, agricultural engineering, pisciculture, agricultural marketing and cooperation, information technology, management, law, economics, and accountancy.
Candidate should have an experience of two years as an officer in a bank or financial institution.
IBPS RRB Officer Eligibility for Scale II (Specialist Officers): –
Information Technology Officer (IT Officer): – Aspiring candidates must have a degree in electronics or communication or computer science or information technology or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
However a certificate in ASP, PHP, C++, Java, VB, VC, OCP is desirable. Candidate should have one year experience.
Chartered Accountant: – Applicant should be a Certified Associate (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Moreover he/ she must have an experience of one year.
Law Officer: – Applicant should have a degree in Law or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Furthermore you should have an experience of two years an advocate or should have worked as law officer in banks or financial institutions for a period not less than two years.
Treasury Manager: – Candidate should be a Certified Associate (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or have MBA in Finance from a recognized university or institution. In addition an experience of one year is pre-requisite.
Marketing Officer: – Applicant should have MBA in marketing from a recognized university. Furthermore one year experience is needed.
Agricultural Officer: – Candidate should have degree in agriculture or horticulture or dairy or animal husbandry. In addition forestry or veterinary science or agricultural engineering or pisciculture with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate is also considered in IBPS RRB Officer Eligibility. Applicant need to have two year experience.
IBPS RRB Officer Eligibility for Scale-III: –
Candidates need to have a degree with a minimum of 50% marks. Candidate having degree or diploma in these subjects are preferred.

IBPS RRB Application Fees
Candidates need to pay an examination fee plus intimation charges as under: –
1, Officer (Scale I II & III), Rs 100 for SC/ST/PWD candidates and Rs 600 for all others
2, Office Assistant (Multipurpose), Rs. 100 for SC/ST/PWD/EXSM candidates and Rs 600 for all others
