Eastern Railway Recruitment 10 Group C & D Vacancy against Scouts & Guides Quota: Eastern Railway (ER) under Indian Railway has issued a notification for the recruitment of 10 Group C & D Vacancies against Scouts & Guides Quota for the year 2016-17. Eligible candidates can apply prescribed application format till date 04 November 2016.

Eligibility: – 10th/ 12th/ ITI Diploma.
Location: – All India.
Last date: – 04 November 2016.
Age limit: – Between 18 to 32 years.
Employment Notice number: – 01/2016/S&G/ER.

Vacancy details of Eastern Railway Recruitment 10 Group C & D Posts against Scouts & Guides Quota:-

Total Vacancy: – 10 posts.
Name of posts: –
1) Group- C (NTPC only) – 02 posts.
2) Group- D (Erstwhile) – 08 posts.

Eastern Railway Recruitment Eligibility Criteria: –

1) Group- C (NTPC only):-
Eligibility:-
Candidates should have passed 12th class or equivalent with 50% marks from a recognized board.
Age limit: – Candidates should be between 18 to 29 years as on 01 January 2017.

2) Group- D (Erstwhile):-
Eligibility:-
Candidates should have passed 10th class or ITI Diploma or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) from a recognized board or institute.
Age limit: – Candidates should be between 18 to 32 years as on 01 January 2017.

Age relaxation: – The upper age limit relaxable up to 03 years for OBC and 05 years for SC, ST categories candidates as per government rules.
Pay scale: – Rs 5200-20200 plus grade pay 1900 per month.

Scouts & Guide qualification:-

  • A President Scout/ Guide/ Rover/ Ranger or Himalayan Wood Badge (HWB) holder in any section.
  • Should have been an active member of a Scouts organization for the last 5 years.
  • Should have attended two events at National level or All Indian Railways level and two events at State level.

Application fee: – Candidates pay a non refundable application fee Rs 500 by through Indian postal order drawn in favour of The FA&CAO/ Eastern Railway, and payable at GPO Kolkata.

SC, ST, PWD, Ex-Servicemen, Women, Minorities and Economic Backward Classes candidates pay application fee of Rs 250 only.

Eastern Railway Selection Process:-

Selection process: – Candidates will be selected on the basis of written examination, Scouting Skill Assessment and Marks on certificates.

  • Written Examination – 50 marks.
  • Scouting Skill Assessment – 10 marks.
  • Marks on certificates – 40 marks.

Syllabus for the written examination:-

History of Scouting/ Guiding, Law and Promises, Knowledge of Books/ Scouting for boys/ Guiding for girls in India, Motto left hand shake, salute, Prayer, Flag song, National Anthem, Know the National & Scouting Flags, Social Services at various occasions, Hiking, Proficiency Badges, How these are earned? Stages in Scouting/ Guiding, Thinking Day, Progressive training of Scouts/ Guides/ Rovers/ Rangers, Pioneering, Handicrafts, Indian Railway Jamborette, National Jamboree, Jamboree on the Air.

Organization at National Level, National Training Centers, WAGGGS/ WOSM, Uprastrapati Award Competition, Prime Minister Shield Competition, Community Development Programmes, Aims and Methods of Scouting, How Scouting is useful in producing better citizens?
