ELIGIBILITY
Candidates must be Indian citizens. The recruitment is open to trained and enrolled male, female and third-gender Home Guards who have completed at least 5 years of service/duty in the Bihar Home Guard organization and fulfil the prescribed qualifications. At the time of appointment consideration, candidates must also have at least 10 years of service remaining.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
• Graduation from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification recognized by the State Government.
• The qualification must have been obtained by 01 August 2026.
AGE LIMIT
• Minimum Age: 24 Years
• Maximum Age: 50 Years
• Age will be calculated as on 01 August 2026.
PHYSICAL STANDARDS
• Height: 165 cm for General/OBC men; 160 cm for EBC/SC/ST men; 155 cm for women.
• Chest: Applicable only to men.
• Weight: Minimum 48 kg for women.
• Third-gender candidates will follow the physical standards applicable to the EBC category.
SELECTION PROCESS
Preliminary Examination → Main Examination → Physical Efficiency Test → Medical Examination/Character & Antecedent Verification → Appointment
EXAM PATTERN
Preliminary Exam:
• 100 Questions
• 200 Marks
• Duration: 2 Hours
• Subject: General Knowledge & Current Affairs
• Minimum Qualifying: 30%
• Candidates up to 20 times the vacancies may be shortlisted for the Main Examination.
• Negative Marking: 0.2 mark for each wrong answer.
Main Examination:
• Paper-I: General Hindi – 100 Questions, 200 Marks, 2 Hours
• Paper-II: General Studies, General Science, Civics, Indian History, Indian Geography, Mathematics & Mental Ability – 100 Questions, 200 Marks, 2 Hours
• Minimum qualifying marks: 30% in General Hindi.
• Negative Marking: 0.2 mark for each wrong answer.
PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST
• Men: 1.6 km run within 6 minutes 30 seconds; High Jump 4 ft; Long Jump 12 ft; Shot Put 16 ft.
• Women: 1 km run within 6 minutes; High Jump 3 ft; Long Jump 9 ft; Shot Put 10 ft.
• Candidates must qualify in all events.
