Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must be an Indian citizen and a resident of Bihar.
The candidate should have the prescribed graduation-level Library Science qualification. The notification refers to candidates having a graduation degree with at least 45% marks and a recognized Library Science degree/qualification. Relaxation of 5 percentage points in the minimum qualifying marks is available for SC, ST, EBC/BC, PwD, women and EWS candidates who are residents of Bihar, as specified in the notification.
The notification also recognizes specified equivalent qualifications issued by Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic & Persian University, Patna / Bihar State Madrasa Education Board and Kameshwar Singh Darbhanga Sanskrit University, subject to the conditions mentioned in the notice.
Age Limit
Minimum age: 21 years as on 01 August 2026. Maximum age as on 01 August 2026: General Male – 37 years; General Female – 40 years; BC/EBC Male/Female – 40 years; SC/ST Male/Female – 42 years. Additional age relaxation is provided for eligible PwD and Ex-Servicemen candidates according to the rules stated in the notification.
