South Eastern Railway Sports Quota Recruitment 2026–27: South Eastern Railway has announced recruitment for eligible sportspersons under the Sports Quota (Open Advertisement) for the year 2026–27. South Eastern Railway Sports Quota Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Criteria:
Level-4/Level-5:
- A University Degree or its equivalent from a recognized University.
Level-2/Level-3:
- Passed Class 12th (10+2) or equivalent examination from a Government-recognized Board/Council/Institution.
OR - Passed Matriculation from a recognized Board plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship.
OR - Passed Class 10th from a Government-recognized Board/Council/Institution plus ITI or equivalent qualification, or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.
- The minimum educational qualification applicable to the post offered must be fulfilled.
Level-1:
- Passed Class 10th, ITI or equivalent qualification, or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.
Important Educational Conditions:
- Candidates must possess the required educational qualification when applying.
- Candidates appearing for final examinations or awaiting final examination results are not eligible.
- Educational qualifications must be from a recognized institution.
- No relaxation in the minimum educational qualification is permitted.
Sports Qualification:
Level-4/Level-5:
Candidates must meet the prescribed sports achievement criteria, including the specified representation or medal-winning achievements in recognized international or national-level competitions. Special provisions are mentioned in the notification for Athletics (Men), Chess (Men) and Table Tennis (Women).
Level-2/Level-3:
Candidates must meet the prescribed sports achievement criteria, including specified representation or medal-winning achievements in recognized international, national, university or other eligible competitions. Special provisions are mentioned for Athletics, Hockey and Archery.
Level-1:
Candidates must meet the prescribed sports achievement criteria for the relevant discipline, including the specified representation or performance in recognized championships and competitions. Special provisions are mentioned for Cricket, Volleyball, Golf and other disciplines.
Important Sports Conditions:
- The relevant sports achievements must have been earned on or after 01 April 2024.
- The concluding day of the championship/event will be considered for this purpose.
- Championships/events must be conducted under recognized sports federations/associations as prescribed in the notification.
- Sports certificates from unrecognized federations will not be accepted where prohibited by the notification.
- Candidates must apply for an advertised sport and playing position for which they possess the required sports eligibility.
- The notification includes discipline-specific and junior national championship rules. Candidates must check the relevant section before applying.

Candidates must be Indian nationals.

Selection Process:

Selection will be based on performance in the Sports Trials followed by verification of sports and educational certificates by the duly constituted Recruitment Committee.

- Recognized sports achievement as per prescribed norms: 50 Marks
- Games skill, physical fitness and coach’s observation during the trial: 40 Marks
- Educational qualification: 10 Marks
Total Marks: 100
Minimum qualifying marks for the Sports Quota selection:
- Grade Pay ₹2,400/₹2,800 (Level-4/5): 70 Marks out of 100
- Grade Pay ₹1,900/₹2,000 (Level-2/3): 65 Marks out of 100
- Grade Pay ₹1,800 (Level-1): 60 Marks out of 100
Minimum qualifying marks for the Games Skill, Physical Fitness and Coach’s Observation component during the trial: 25 marks out of 40.
Important Selection Conditions:
- Selection will be based on merit within the notified vacancies for each discipline.
- If candidates obtain the same marks in a discipline, the younger candidate will receive preference.
- The date and venue of the Sports Trials and certificate verification will be communicated to eligible candidates.
- Candidates must bring original documents relating to date of birth, educational qualifications, sports achievements and identity proof.
- No TA/DA or accommodation will be provided for attending the selection trials.
- Candidates may need to stay for 2–3 days at their own expense.
- Selected candidates must pass the prescribed medical fitness standards.
- Selected candidates must submit a service bond requiring them to serve the Railway for 5 years.
- Candidates appointed to Clerk-cum-Typist posts must acquire typing proficiency of 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi within four years from appointment.
