Educational Qualification
Navik (General Duty): Class 12th passed with Mathematics and Physics from a recognized board.
Navik (Domestic Branch): Class 10th passed from a recognized board.
Yantrik: Class 10th passed with the required engineering diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics or Telecommunication Engineering, as specified in the notification.
Hygienist-I: Matriculation, ITI, or equivalent qualification recognized by the Central or State Government.

The date-of-birth requirements differ according to the post and batch:
Navik (GD), Batch 01/2027 & 02/2027: 01 November 2005 to 01 May 2009, subject to the batch-specific conditions in the notification.
Yantrik, Batch 01/2027: 01 May 2005 to 01 May 2009.
Navik (DB), Batch 02/2027: 01 November 2005 to 01 October 2009.

Selection Process
The selection process consists of the following stages:
- Stage-I: Computer-Based Online Examination
- Stage-II: Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Assessment and Adaptability Test, Document Verification, and Medical Examination
- Stage-III: Final document verification and pre-enrolment medical examination at INS Chilka
- Stage-IV: Verification of original educational and other documents with the concerned authorities

- Push-ups: 15
- Bent-knee sit-ups: 15
Female Candidates
- 1.6 km run: 8 minutes
- Squats (Uthak-Baithak): 15
- Push-ups: 10
- Bent-knee sit-ups: 10
All four physical tests must be completed continuously without a break.
