Educational Qualification:
For Subedar and applicable non-technical Sub Inspector posts, candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognised university. For Sub Inspector (Arms), a 3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is required. For Sub Inspector (Photo/Q.D./Finger Print), a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or equivalent is prescribed.
Salary:
Subedar and the specified Sub Inspector posts carry Level 9 pay of ₹36,200–₹1,14,800. During the first three years, stipend is payable at 70%, 80% and 90% of the minimum of the pay scale respectively, as per the prescribed rules.
Selection Process:
The selection process includes Preliminary Written Examination, Main Written Examination, Physical Proficiency Test (PPT), Interview and Document Verification. The PPT carries 100 marks and includes an 800-metre race (40 marks), long jump (30 marks) and shot put (30 marks). The interview carries 50 marks.
Exam Pattern:
The Preliminary Examination is of 100 marks with a duration of 2 hours. Questions are based on Hindi, English, Analytical Ability, History, Geography, Science, Civics, Computer Knowledge, Reasoning and Current Affairs.
The Main Examination consists of two papers of 300 marks each, with 2 hours allotted for each paper. Technical posts also require a separate 300-mark technical examination. Negative marking of 1/3 mark is applicable for incorrect answers in the prescribed papers.
Application Fee:
The examination fee for direct recruitment posts is ₹500 for Unreserved candidates and ₹250 for eligible SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates of Madhya Pradesh, along with the prescribed additional examination/portal charges. :contentReference[oaicite:9]{index=9}
