Educational Qualification:
– Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University/Institution or equivalent.
– Candidates must also possess at least a 120-hour course with working experience in the use of Personal Computers or Information Technology in Office Productivity Applications or Desktop Publishing Applications from a Government-recognized institution or an ISO 9001 certified reputed institution.

– Candidates may possess a Computer Information Technology course equivalent to the ‘O’ Level Certificate of DOEACC, Government of India.
Punjabi Language Qualification:
– Candidates must have passed Matriculation with Punjabi as a compulsory or elective subject, or an equivalent Punjabi language qualification.
– A mandatory qualifying Punjabi Language Test equivalent to Matriculation level is prescribed.
– Candidates must secure at least 50% marks in the Punjabi Language qualifying test.
– Failure to obtain 50% marks in the Punjabi Language test will disqualify the candidate from consideration in the final merit list, irrespective of marks obtained in other papers.
Cut-off Date for Qualification:

PSSSB Clerk Recruitment 2026 Selection Process:
The selection process will consist of:
1. Objective Type Written Examination
2. Punjabi Language Qualifying Test
3. Typing Test
4. Document Verification/Counselling
5. Final Merit List
Written Examination:
– The written examination will consist of Part-A and Part-B.
– Part-A will be a Punjabi Language paper at Matriculation level.
– Part-A will be qualifying in nature.
– Candidates must secure at least 50% marks in Part-A.
– The merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in Part-B only.
– Part-B will have negative marking.
– Each question will carry 1 mark.
– 1/4 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
Typing Test:
– Candidates shortlisted as per the decision of the competent authority will be called for the typing test.
– Typing test will be conducted in both English and Punjabi.
– Required typing speed: 30 words per minute in English and Punjabi.
– The typing test will be conducted on a computer.
– Punjabi typing will be conducted in Unicode-compliant Raavi font.
– Both English and Punjabi typing tests are qualifying in nature.
– It is mandatory to qualify the typing test.
Final Merit:
– The Common Merit List will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in Part-B of the Written Examination by candidates who qualify the typing test.
– In case of a tie, the older candidate will be placed higher in merit.
– If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate with higher marks/percentage in the required educational qualification will be preferred.
– If the tie still remains, marks obtained in Matriculation will be considered.
Document Verification/Counselling:
– Candidates will be called for counselling/document verification as decided by the Board or competent authority.
