Rule: Every year, it is decided in advance from which regional group the next President will come. For example, if one year the President is from the Asia-Pacific group, the following year the President may come from Latin America or Africa. This ensures equal representation for all regions. However, this arrangement was not part of the original UN Charter; it was adopted later as a representation reform.
