– The government decided to impose this ban based on the recent Supreme Court ruling and its own directives regarding the regulation of social media usage.
– A while ago, the top court had stated that online and social media platforms — whether domestic or foreign — must be registered with the competent authority.

Why does it appear red?
– You may have read about the seven colors of light.
– These colors are seen in VIBGYOR: Violet (V), Indigo (I), Blue (B), Green (G), Yellow (Y), Orange (O), and Red (R).
– VI (Violet and Indigo) have short wavelengths.
– OR (Orange and Red) have long wavelengths.
