What is the purpose of SIR?
– The Election Commission says that a special revision was conducted in 2004, but it has been pending for the last 21 years.
– Over this period of time, many changes have become necessary in the voter list.
For example, migration, a person’s name appearing in two voter lists,
a name remaining on the voter list even after death, or the name of a foreign citizen being added by mistake.
– The purpose of SIR is to ensure that no eligible person is left out of the voter list and no ineligible person is included in it.

When will the draft electoral rolls be published?

– Claims and objections can then be submitted from December 9th to January 8th. Notices will be issued, and the hearing and verification process will run from December 9th to January 31st.
