– Sheikh Hasina had been the Prime Minister of Bangladesh since 2009. It is said that during this time, she kept democracy in the country alive only in name.

The situation had been deteriorating in Bangladesh for the past two years:
– For the past two years, the situation in Bangladesh had been worsening against Sheikh Hasina.
– The opposition parties had refused to participate in the last parliamentary elections, and after the elections, Sheikh Hasina secured a majority.
– In recent developments, violence erupted in Bangladesh against the Supreme Court’s order to restore reservations in government jobs.
– The Sheikh Hasina government also appealed against this decision of the Supreme Court, but the Supreme Court upheld its previous decision.
– This angered the students, leading to nationwide protests.
– The situation became so dire that the Bangladesh army gave Sheikh Hasina just 45 minutes to resign on August 5, 2024. During this time, she had to resign and flee to India via a military helicopter and then an airplane.
– Statues of her father and the hero of Bangladesh’s independence, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, were torn down and destroyed in several places.

How did such a situation arise in Bangladesh, which boasts of progress?
– This question arises because, for the past four years, Bangladesh’s per capita GDP (Gross Domestic Product) has been higher than that of India. Despite higher per capita income, why do Bangladeshis continue to illegally seek employment in India?
– According to World Bank data, Bangladesh’s per capita GDP is $2,688, while India’s is $2,411. Not only that, the average life expectancy in Bangladesh is 74 years, compared to 68 years in India.
– Indeed, Bangladesh’s average income is higher. However, there is a shortage of jobs there.

Sheikh Hasina is in the safe house at Hindon Airbase:
– Former Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, is in the safe house at Hindon Airbase in Ghaziabad.
– The military plane from Bangladesh returned on the morning of August 6, 2024, at 9 AM, leaving behind her and her sister Rehana.
– India’s National Security Advisor (NSA), Ajit Doval, held a discussion with Sheikh Hasina for about an hour.

Hasina’s journey stalled due to lack of clearance:
