– Kumudini, a resident of Ahmedabad, is a Kathak dancer and choreographer.
– She founded the Kadamba School of Dance and Music, an institute of Indian dance and music, in 1967.
– Her mother Leela was a classical singer.
iv) Lakshminarayanan Subramaniam: Art: Karnataka
– He is a renowned violinist, composer and music conductor. He hails from Karnataka.
– Born on 23 July 1947.
– Famous for using fusion in music.
– He has founded the Lakshminarayanan Global Music Festival.
v) M.T. Vasudevan Nair (Posthumous): Literature and Education: Kerala
– He was a famous writer of Malayalam language.
– He was a novelist, short story writer, screenwriter and film director.

– He was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1970 for his novel Kalam.

– He was the former chairman of Suzuki Motor Corporation of Japan.
– He died on 25 December 2024 at the age of 94.
– He joined Suzuki Motor in 1958 after a banking career and started his journey with the company. Over the next two decades, Suzuki gradually progressed and became the chairman of the company in 1978.
– In the 1980s, Suzuki entered the Indian market, which was a backward region for automobiles at the time.
– He invested in the Indian company Maruti.
– The partnership led to the launch of Maruti Suzuki in 1983.
vii) Sharda Sinha (posthumous): Art: Bihar
– Sharda Sinha, famous as a folk singer, died on 5 November 2024 at the age of 71.
– Sharda Sinha’s singing career started in the 1970s. Sinha has sung many folk songs in Bhojpuri, Maithili and Hindi. Migration from Bihar and the struggle of women have got a lot of space in her singing.
– Sharda Sinha is best known for folk songs but her voice has also resonated in popular Hindi cinema.
– She is also seen as the cultural ambassador of North India. During the Chhath festival in Bihar and Purvanchal, Sharda Sinha’s voice resonates in almost all the houses.
